HudBay Minerals' (HBM) Copper World project in Arizona is attracting "a lot of interested parties" from the Middle East and Japan as the Canadian miner shops a minority stake in the mine to prospective partners, HudBay Chief Executive Peter Kukielski told Bloomberg on Thursday.
Kukielski is expecting to sell a 20% to 30% share of the mine over the next six months. He identified a handful of potential buyers, including Saudi Arabia-based Manara Minerals Investment and unnamed trading houses in Japan, although he also said discussions were ongoing, according to the report.
HudBay did not immediately return messages from MT Newswires on Thursday seeking comment.
