Air New Zealand Buys Back 631,121 Ordinary Shares

Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ, NZE:AIR) repurchased 631,121 ordinary shares for cancelation as part of its buyback program disclosed on Feb. 20, according to a Friday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.

The acquisition comprised 311,867 ordinary shares bought via the NZX at an average price of NZ$0.6152 and 91,153 ordinary shares at an average price of AU$0.5617 on the ASX. It also acquired off-market 321,871 ordinary shares from the Ministry of Finance for NZ$0.6148 apiece.

Company shares rose nearly 3% in recent Friday trade on the New Zealand bourse.
