NBL owner Larry Kestelman has declared the national men’s basketball competition is not for sale, rejecting a hostile takeover put forward by the Illawarra Hawks’ billionaire owner, Jared Novelly.
Novelly, an oil tycoon and ally of US President Donald Trump, wrote to the NBL’s clubs late on Thursday with a plan to oust Kestelman from his position, citing concerns with how he has managed and distributed funding and profits.
