OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) said that the New South Wales Resources Regulator has initiated an investigation into potential Mining Act violations related to its exploration license EL 8492 at the Gulf Creek Copper Project, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
The investigation follows the regulator's March 5 inspection of the project, which raised environmental compliance concerns, including groundwater management, surface water controls, and site disturbance issues, the filing said.
OD6 suspended exploration at the project on March 11 after corrective measures were deemed insufficient, the filing added.
The company is cooperating with the regulator and assessing the investigation's impact.
