Singapore Shares Edge Higher, Tracking U.S. Futures -- Market Talk

0948 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index closed 0.25% higher at 3936.33, tracking U.S. futures. DFI Retail Group rose 4.0% after the company announced to sell its Singapore food business to Malaysia's Macrovalue. CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust gained 1.9% and Jardine Matheson added 1.75%. Among decliners, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding fell 2.8%, Jardine Cycle & Carriage lost 1.0% and Sembcorp Industries was 0.8% lower. Markets await for a slew of economic data from the U.S. this week, with particular focus on inflation data, the UOB Global Economics & Markets Research team writes in a note.
