3 月 21 日，据 CNBC 报道，贝莱德数字资产部门负责人 Robert Mitchnick 表示，以太坊 ETF 的需求自去年七月推出以来一直表现平平，但如果一些阻碍其发展的监管问题能够“得到解决”，情况可能会发生变化。
Mitchnick 在周四纽约市举行的数字资产峰会上表示，普遍认为以太坊 ETF 的成功与比特币基金的爆炸式增长相比显得“平淡无奇”。尽管他认为这是一种“误解”，但他也承认，无法在基金中赚取质押收益可能是其中一个制约因素。
他说：“显然，以太坊 ETF 的潜在演变进入了下一个阶段。事实证明，ETF 是一种非常有吸引力的工具，许多不同类型的投资者可以通过它持有比特币。毫无疑问，对于以太坊来说，在没有质押的情况下，ETF 就显得不那么完美。质押收益是你在这个领域获得投资回报的重要方式，而所有在推出时的 以太坊 ETF 都没有包含质押。”
质押是投资者通过将代币锁定在网络上一段时间来赚取被动收益的一种方式。如果投资者不打算很快出售其加密货币，这可以让他们将其加密资产“投入使用”。但 Mitchnick 并不指望会有简单的解决办法。
他解释道：“这不是一个特别简单的问题。并不是说美国政府批准了某个方案，然后就‘好了’，大家可以开始了。要解决这个问题，还有许多相当复杂的挑战需要克服，但如果能够解决这些问题，那么在我们看到这些产品周围的活动时，将会出现一个飞跃性的提升。”
