TotalEnergies (TTE) is in talks to import green hydrogen from a project being developed by Casa dos Ventos at the port of Pecem in Brazil to supply its refineries in Europe, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The French energy company could become a key buyer and is considering taking a stake in the project, which would have an annual production capacity of 160,000 tons of green hydrogen and 900,000 tons of green ammonia, the report said. TotalEnergies owns a 34% stake in Casa dos Ventos' wind and solar generation unit, according to the report.
TotalEnergies and Casa dos Ventos have yet to finalize a deal, the report said.
TotalEnergies and Casa dos Ventos did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
