1206 ET - Albertsons blames Kroger for their failed merger. Kroger claims the blame falls on Albertsons. The two U.S. grocery-store operators are waging a war of words and leaving it to courts to decide who's at fault. Kroger says a strategy pursued by Albertsons undermined its efforts to seal the deal, adding it wasn't entitled to the $600 million termination fee or other damages. Albertsons says it looks forward to presenting its case in court. The case was filed in the Delaware Court of Chancery, widely considered the nation's top tribunal for corporate takeover and merger disputes.(denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
