Waymo is preparing its fully autonomous ride-hailing service for launch in Washington, D.C., in 2026.
The self-driving-technology company, owned by Google parent Alphabet, said it will continue to work with policymakers to formalize the regulations needed to operate without a human behind the wheel of its vehicles.
Waymo's fully autonomous services are available in San Francisco, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Austin, Texas. The company is looking to expand to Atlanta and Miami, with Washington, D.C. to follow.
