智通财经APP获悉，周五，新日铁公司股价大幅下跌。有报道称，如果该公司价值141亿美元的收购提议获批，可能会投入高达70亿美元用于升级美国钢铁(X.US)公司的生产设施。据外媒对这一潜在投资计划的报道，这一金额远高于这家日本企业此前承诺的原计划用于重建美国钢铁公司老化资产的27亿美元。
周四美股盘后交易中，美国钢铁公司股价上涨超7%。而在周五日股交易中，截至发稿，新日铁股价下挫超4%。
报道称，两家公司正在积极商讨，力求推进这笔于2023年末宣布的交易，但该报道未透露消息来源。新日铁和美国钢铁发言人都拒绝对该报道发表评论。
包括副总裁Takahiro Mori在内的新日铁高管目前正在华盛顿与白宫官员会面，希望能获得收购交易的批准。唐纳德·特朗普总统在2月曾表示反对这一收购案，但支持新日铁对这家美国钢铁巨头进行少数股权投资。
