APIW names TMHCC’s Rivera as 2025 Insurance Woman of the Year

March 26 - (The Insurer) - The Association of Professional Insurance Women has named Tokio Marine HCC CEO Susan Rivera as the APIW Insurance Woman of the Year.

She will formally receive the award at the APIW ceremony on June 11, 2025, in New York City.

Rivera began her career as an actuary at AIG before transitioning to underwriting. Over the years, she has held leadership positions at Praetorian Insurance Company –later acquired by QBE – V3 Insurance Partners and Tokio Marine HCC.

At TMHCC, she has served as chief operating officer and CEO, as well as managing executive officer and co-chief retention strategy officer of Tokio Marine Group.

“Susan’s time and success at TMHCC have highlighted her world class leadership capabilities, shepherding the organization to new heights with expanded product offerings and geographical footprint,” said APIW president Dawnmarie Black.

Rivera commented: “This accolade not only celebrates individual achievement but also reflects the broader progress within the insurance sector towards greater inclusivity and championing talent, so that we can provide relevant and best-in-class insurance solutions to our customers and partners.”
