Tesla's (TSLA) market share in Europe decreased year-over-year in February, Reuters reported Tuesday citing data from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association.
Sales for the electric car maker fell for a second month amid increased competition and a slowdown in European economies.
Despite a rise in overall EV registrations on the continent, data showed that Tesla sold 42.6% fewer cars in Europe so far this year.
Tesla held 1.8% of the total market and 10.3% of the battery-electric vehicle market in February, down from 2.8% and 21.6% last year, according to the report.
The company sold less than 17,000 cars in the European Union, Britain, and European Free Trade Association countries, compared to over 28,000 in the same month in 2024, the report said.
Tesla did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
