Lockheed Martin is working with Google Cloud to integrate generative artificial intelligence.

The Reston, Va., defense contractor said Thursday it plans to use Google's AI to train, deploy and sustain its own AI models. The goal is to speed up its AI use in national security, aerospace and scientific applications, it said.

Lockheed Martin's AI offerings, which it calls AI Factory, currently use both open-source and proprietary models. Google Cloud's AI will become part of the AI Factory ecosystem, Lockheed said.

Lockheed Martin is using AI for real-time decision-making, predictive aerospace maintenance, engineering designs, supply chains, software development, workforce training and scientific discoveries, it said.
