United Parcel Services said it introduced a new global checkout system that eliminates unexpected import-cost fees.

The Atlanta-based parcel carrier said Wednesday that UPS Global Checkout guarantees customers will be told up front how much they'll be paying for duties, fees and taxes associated with international purchases.

Those purchases have historically arrived with an additional bill for unpaid import costs. The new system allows for complete transparency on costs, UPS said.

The system is available in 43 origin countries and 200 destinations worldwide.
