Star Entertainment Group (ASX:SGR) said the Queensland government deferred the suspension of its Gold Coast casino license until Sept. 30 from March 31, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
Following a review of the company's progress and on the advice of the special manager, the government said it was "satisfied" with Star's ongoing efforts in addressing priority remediation measures, per the filing.
The extension grants the company additional time to fulfill its remaining commitments and includes the continued appointment of a special manager for Star Gold Coast and an external adviser for Star Brisbane until the new deadline, the filing added.
The government will continue to monitor the company's remediation progress over the next six months, according to the filing.
