1508 ET - Krispy Kreme is bringing its doughnuts to Brazilians by forming a franchise partnership with AmPam, the country's largest convenience store chain. The move fits with the company's strategy of asset-light expansion through corporate team-ups. It is in the process of rolling out to McDonald's locations around the U.S. and has been expanding partnerships with Walmart, Target and Kroger. Krispy Kreme's latest partner, AmPam, has a network of about 1,500 retail locations across Brazil. The doughnut maker and AmPam have formed a minority joint venture to open Brazil's first Krispy Kreme in the busy Avenida Juscelino Kubitschek neighborhood in São Paulo in late April.
