Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) Executive Chairman Jay Y. Lee visited BYD's (SHE:002594) Shenzhen headquarters on Monday, just days after touring Xiaomi's (HKG:1810) electric vehicle factory in Beijing, Pulse News reported Tuesday.
His back-to-back meetings with key Chinese EV makers fuel speculation about Samsung's deeper collaboration in automotive electronics, according to the report.
Lee visited BYD's headquarters after attending the China Development Forum in Beijing, where he met BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu amid the company's rapid global expansion, the report said.
Shares of Samsung Electronics increased more than 2%, while those of BYD and Xiaomi rose over 1% in recent trade on Wednesday.
