LG Energy Solution (KRX:373220) agreed to supply 981 megawatt-hours of grid-scale energy storage system (ESS) batteries to Polish energy company PGE from 2026 to 2027, the South Korean battery manufacturer said Tuesday.
The companies will develop a battery energy storage facility in Żarnowiec, with commercial operations set for 2027. LG Energy Solution will provide high-capacity lithium-iron-phosphate long-cell batteries and turnkey solutions, the release said.
Shares of LG Energy Solution rose nearly 2% in recent trade on Wednesday.
