消息面上，据观察者网援引媒体报道，接近长和高层消息人士透露，长和本周不会签订任何关于出售巴拿马港口的协议。另据“市说新语”微信公众号消息，大公文汇全媒体记者就“长和拟售巴拿马港口”一事，向国家市场监督管理总局提问：据悉，4月2日长和将与贝莱德签署巴拿马港口的交易协议，请问该交易是否要经过中国的反垄断审查批准？国家市场监督管理总局反垄断二司负责人表示，我们注意到此交易，将依法进行审查，保护市场公平竞争，维护社会公共利益。
另外，长和今早发布公告称，董事会知悉最近与可能分拆公司全球电讯资产及业务有关的若干媒体报导。集团不时接获建议并探索及评估可供考虑的机会，藉以提升股东的长远价值，包括与公司全球电讯业务的资产及运营相关的可能交易(包括分拆上市)。于公告日期，董事会未有就公司全球电讯业务有关的任何交易作出决定。公司股东及潜在投资者谨请注意，目前并不确定是否将会进行任何交易。
