China Railway's Profit Falls 17%, Revenue Slips 8% in 2024; Shares Dip 10%

China Railway Group's (HKG:0390, SHA:601390) profit attributable to owners in 2024 fell 17% to 27.9 billion yuan from 33.5 billion yuan a year earlier, according to a Hong Kong Stock Exchange filing on

Earnings per share declined year on year to 1.08 yuan from 1.29 yuan, missing Visible Alpha estimates of 1.21 yuan.

The Chinese construction company's revenue slipped 8.2% to 1.160 trillion yuan from 1.263 trillion yuan in the preceding year. Analysts surveyed by Visible Alpha predicted a revenue of 1.213 trillion yuan for the period.

A final dividend of 0.178 yuan per share was recommended for the period. It will be paid around August to shareholders.

The company's Hong Kong shares dipped over 10%, while Shanghai shares closed 5% lower.
