TEMPO.CO, Cirebon - As many as 74,000 vehicles have passed through the Cipali toll road (Cikopo-Palimanan) on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The increase in vehicle volume occurred leading up to the Eid holiday.
Based on the information gathered, on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 00:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the volume of vehicles passing through the Cipali toll road from Jakarta to Cirebon has reached 74 thousand vehicles.
"This figure is roughly similar to the traffic volume at the same time the day before," said Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Dept. Head of Astra Cipali toll, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
The average traffic volume this afternoon is at 4,900 vehicles per hour. "The volume of the Cipali toll road towards Cirebon is observed to be smooth and stable," said Ardam.
He added that all 8 rest areas on the Cipali toll road were observed to be busy this afternoon, but still able to meet the needs of road users. "If the rest area is full, road users can use alternative rest areas outside the nearest toll gate," said Ardam.
Meanwhile, today on Saturday, March 29, 2025, an accident involving 2 vehicles occurred at KM 142+200 B (one-way lane) towards Cirebon at around 01:45 AM. The vehicle driver is suspected to have fallen asleep and swerved, hitting the center barrier and then being hit by another vehicle.
This incident was reported to the Traffic Monitoring Center (TMC) by road users. Subsequently, the Astra Cipali Toll rescue, towing, and ambulance team, together with PJR, carried out handling and evacuation.
This accident resulted in 1 fatality, 1 severe injury, and 2 minor injuries who were evacuated to RS Cideres Majalengka. The evacuation process was completed at 03:50 AM and the traffic was back to normal.
