Australia’s first state government funded satellite has delivered its first images from space.

SmartSat Chief Research Officer Dr Carl Seubert said the technology has the capability to take images across “50 slices of the spectrum".

“Some of these … are outside of what the human eye would actually be able to see,” Mr Seubert said.

“From space, where you’ve got this really high vantage point, you can now take these great snapshots looking down at the Earth and do this Earth observation imagery.”
