China Construction Bank (HKG:0939, SHA:601939) launched a financial model based on Chinese artificial intelligence startup DeepSeek in February, Chief Executive Officer Zhang Yi said in an earnings call Friday.
The bank started fine-tuning DeepSeek's model with its financial data in February, two months after its launch in December 2024, Zhang said.
CCB's application of its large financial models covered half of the bank's employees, 46 business lines, and more than 200 scenarios, such as worksheet generation and due diligence reports.
The use of AI tools has squeezed the timeframe to complete tasks to a few hours compared with several days previously, reducing the burden on employees, Zhang said.
