Air New Zealand Buys Back Over 520,000 Shares for Cancellation

Air New Zealand (ASX:AIZ, NZE:AIR) repurchased 520,407 ordinary shares under an on-market and off-market buyback program, according to a Monday filing with the New Zealand and Australian bourses.

The company acquired 175,000 ordinary shares on New Zealand's Stock Exchange at an average price of NZ$0.6254 per share and 80,000 ordinary shares on the Australian Securities Exchange for an average price of AU$0.5703. It also acquired 265,407 shares from the finance minister for NZ$0.6258 apiece.

The acquired shares will be canceled.

The company's Kiwi and Australian shares each fell nearly 2% in recent Monday trade.
