Meeka Metals (ASX:MEK) said the first ore at the Murchison gold project in Western Australia is expected in April, after open pit production achieved around 20,000 bank cubic meters daily material movement near the end of March, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

The firm also advanced expansion works on the carbon-in-leach gold processing plant during March, including the installation of a larger 750 kilowatts ball mill, the cyclone cluster on the cyclone structure, and installation of the top of tank steel work on the new leach and adsorption tanks.

It also established access to the high-grade Andy Well underground mine, installing dewatering infrastructure.
