Qualcomm (QCOM) acquired MovianAI, an artificial intelligence application and research company, for an undisclosed price.
MovianAI was previously the generative AI division of VinAI, a research firm of the Hanoi-based Vingroup, Qualcomm said Tuesday in a statement.
VinAI founder and Chief Executive Officer Hung Bui will join Qualcomm.
The acquisition "will strengthen Qualcomm's generative AI research and development capabilities and expedite the creation of advanced AI solutions for products like smartphones, PCs and software-defined vehicles," according to the statement.
