TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian House of Representatives Vice Chairperson Sufmi Dasco Ahmad believes the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) will experience an uptrend after the 2025 Eid al-Fitr holiday.
"After the holiday and returning to work, (IHSG) will rise positively," Dasco said on Monday, March 31, 2025.
He shared this optimism after visiting the residence of Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, also known as Zulhas, in Jatinegara, East Jakarta.
Dasco paid a visit to Zulhas' house when the Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) hosted an open house on the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
Furthermore, Dasco also pointed out the IHSG, which had previously risen at the end of March 2025. The increase occurred after the IHSG had experienced a decline in the middle to the end of the month.
In addition, Dasco mentioned that President Prabowo Subianto will meet with stock market investors after the 2025 Eid al-Fitr
Dasco said the meeting with President Prabowo, who is also the Chairman of the Gerindra Party, had been planned.
"If he meets with investors, it is definitely planned and will be held after Eid, there is already a plan," said the Secretary General of the Gerindra Party.
Capital market analyst Kiwoom Sekuritas Oktavianus Audi previously assessed that the increase in stock prices and the surge in the number of investors at the end of March 2025 were triggered by several main factors.
"The discounted market valuation, dividend distribution, and positive performance until February 2025, especially in the banking sector, are the main driving factors," Audi said when contacted on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
However, he also warned of the potential for a correction after Eid al-Fitr, referring to the historical trend in the past four years.
"Looking at the pattern in the past, the IHSG tends to experience a correction after Eid. In 2024, the IHSG fell by 3.64 percent in the following month, while in 2023 it fell by 4.08 percent," Audi said.
According to him, the main factor behind this trend is the limited information during the stock market holiday and the increasing market volatility.
