　　知情人士称，格芯正在评估与联电合并。

　　知情人士表示，2月获任命出任格芯首席执行官的Tim Breen准备在4月上任，他愿意考虑多种交易选择，包括可能与联电结盟。

　　目前尚不清楚该交易是否会成真，收购联电对格芯来说可能并非易事。这家美国芯片制造商的市值约为200亿美元，联电的市值约为170亿美元。他们都从事高度周期性的业务，需要大量的资本支出。格芯手头上没有足够的现金来直接收购，因此格芯可能需要大量借贷或稀释其股票。

　　联电周二在中国台北股价一度上涨7.5%，随后回吐了部分涨幅。一些分析师提及阻碍这笔交易的挑战。

　　格芯尚未回应置评请求。联电首席财务官刘启东拒绝发表评论，称该公司不讨论市场传言。
