Ai Marine secures lead capacity from Blenheim 5886

By Michael Jones

April 4 - (The Insurer) - Ai Marine has secured lead capacity from White Bear’s Blenheim Syndicate 5886 as of April 1, the MGA announced on LinkedIn.

The marine MGA is also supported by other A-plus-rated Lloyd’s capacity, Ai Marine said in the post.

Blenheim Syndicate 5886 has replaced SiriusPoint at the lead capacity provider, two senior marine market sources said.

In December, six marine market sources told this publication that SiriusPoint was pulling its capacity from Ai Marine. SiriusPoint denied this suggestion at the time.

SiriusPoint had provided substantial capacity to Ai Marine, three marine market sources told this publication in December.

A senior source close to SiriusPoint said that it renewed its lead capacity relationship with Ai Marine at the January 1 renewals. Two separate senior marine market sources said SiriusPoint had renewed its capacity until the end of the first quarter.

SiriusPoint did not directly respond to a question on whether it had pulled capacity from Ai Marine.

A SiriusPoint spokesperson told The Insurer: “SiriusPoint continues to support several marine hull managing general agents and we remain committed to this market. We also continue to invest in our London-based marine team.”
