UK Stocks-Factors to watch on April 4

April 4 - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening down on Friday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.28%.

* RIO TINTO: An Australian mining union said it secured key pecuniary benefit from Rio Tinto RIO.AX, RIO.L and BHP Group BHP.AX for its workers in the Pilbara region, including flight delay compensation and retention bonuses.

* SHELL: Shell SHEL.L said it was selling its interest in Colonial Enterprises to Colossus AcquireCo, a Brookfield Infrastructure Partners BIP.N subsidiary, for $1.45 billion.

* GSK: GSK GSK.L and Pfizer PFE.N agreed to resolve a lawsuit that alleged Pfizer's respiratory syncytial virus vaccine Abrysvo violated the patent rights to GSK's RSV shot Arexvy, according to a filing in Delaware federal court.

* GLENCORE: Anglo-Swiss commodities giant Glencore GLEN.L said that it has approached both Queensland's and the Federal Government of Australia about the future of its Mount Isa copper smelter and Townville copper refinery assets.

* OIL: Oil prices fell further in early Asian trade and were on track for the worst week in months over U.S. President Donald Trump's new tariffs raise fears of a global trade war that could weigh on oil demand.

* GOLD: Gold prices fell as investors reassessed their risk outlook in the wake of tariff measures, which raised concerns over economic slowdown.

* METALS: Copper prices in London fell and were set for weekly losses after tariffs, dampened the global demand outlook for metals.

* The UK blue-chip index .FTSE closed down 1.6% on Thursday ,touching a two-month low, posting its largest daily drop since August 2024 as investors avoided risky assets on global trade war and recession worries.
