UBS is tapping Solita Marcelli as the next head of global investment management for its global wealth management unit.
Marcelli, who serves as the unit's chief investment officer for the Americas, will succeed Bruno Marxer, who plans to retire at the end of first quarter of 2026.
One of Barron's 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance for 2025, Marcelli will assume her new role on July 1. She will be responsible for UBS' discretionary, advisory, and investment fund offerings as well as wealth planning and insured solutions offerings in the Americas, the Swiss bank said in memos to employees announcing the changes.
The memos credited Marxer, a 35-year industry veteran, with helping UBS to expand its global investment management platform. After he transitions out of his current role on July 1, he will continue to help with UBS's integration of Credit Suisse until his retirement.
Ulrike Hoffmann-Burchardi will become UBS' chief investment officer for the Americas in addition to her existing role as chief investment officer of global equities.
Marcelli will report to Mark Haefele, chief investment officer for UBS Global Wealth Management, and Yves-Alain Sommerhalder, head of global wealth management solutions.
