Kroger is one of the best performers in the S&P 500 on Thursday as stocks overall declined, rising 5.1% to $70.73.
Guggenheim raised its Kroger price target to $73 from $71.
Among other grocery chains, Albertsons was up 2.8% to $23.06, Sprouts Farmers Market declined 2.3% to $154.69 and Weis Markets was 0.2% lower to $78.97.
The S&P 500 was recently down 4.2% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 3.3% on concerns about President Trump's new tariff plan.
