Mohamed El-Erian预计美联储今年只降息一次，这与市场和美联储当前的预测形成鲜明对比。

　　市场充分消化了2025年至少两次降息的可能性，同时押注第三次降息的可能性也很高。投资者总体上预计今年将降息约70个基点，首次降息是在7月，幅度为25基点。与此同时，美联储最新的点阵图预计今年仅降息两次。

　　他表示，美联储“本质上是鸽派的”。他补充说在尚未了解即将出台的关税细节以及各国将如何应对的情况下，美联储就淡化疲软的经济数据并称关税的影响是暂时的，这令他担忧。

　　他说，市场过于乐观地认为新关税将带来一个“撒切尔-里根时刻”，即在动荡之后经济体系重塑，最终实现更加精简的政府、更健康的债务结构、更有能力并有重大创新的私营部门，以及更加公平的贸易体系。

　　他表示，为了实现这种最佳情境，美国总统特朗普必须在全面关税方面给予一定清晰度。

　　El-Erian表示，他预计特朗普的关税计划将推动进行多轮谈判。

　　他补充道，尽管市场定价已经反映出不确定因素，但却没有消化关税可能导致经济陷入滞涨的50%概率，而滞涨将使决策者陷入瘫痪。他说，“只有在出现严重经济放缓的情况下，政策立场才会有所回应。”
