3月30日，康奈尔大学金融学教授黄明在一场论坛上表示，以往中国社会不太关注创新研发，打造一流国际企业。他举例说，“比方说联想和房地产企业，吸引了大量的眼球“，”联想得到了那么多的政策、金融、社会资源，这么多年来，没有做一个像样的创新研发“。黄明还强调，“我不是批评他们，他们日子过得挺好，培养了一批很能赚钱的投资者，和房地产开发商”。
