1204 ET - Conagra should be better positioned than its food-making peers for a downturn in snacking as consumers eschew carbohydrates and seek out protein-dense snacks, CEO Sean Connolly says on a call with analysts. The maker of Slim Jims and Healthy Choice frozen dinners has a product portfolio that's highly concentrated in protein and fiber, he says. "Between meat snacks and popcorn, you've got two very on-trend businesses," Connolly says. Conagra's seeds business, which includes the DAVID Seeds brand, is also a strong asset as consumers seek out healthier choices, the CEO says. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
