By Mia MacGregor

April 2 - (The Insurer) - Bermuda-based Radix ILS has appointed Rachel Barnes Binnie as a portfolio manager and Gordon Jin as an actuary, with both joining from Aon.

Barnes Binnie joins after three years at Aon, where she worked as a retro broker in Bermuda. Before that, she held various roles at Hamilton and Allied World.

Jin most recently served as vice president – retro/ILW actuary at Aon. Earlier in his career, he worked at Guy Carpenter in Shanghai and Willis Towers Watson in Toronto.

“Rachel and Gordon’s combined expertise in broking, underwriting, and actuarial science makes them perfect additions as we continue building,” Radix ILS said in a LinkedIn post.

Radix ILS was launched earlier this year by Hanni Ali, the former group head of ILS and sustainability at Hamilton.

In an interview with The Insurer TV, Ali said the venture aims to reshape aspects of the insurance-linked securities market by emphasising transparency, technology and sustainable capital strategies.
