智通财经APP获悉，据报道，Arm Holdings(ARM.US)曾寻求收购英国公司Alphawave，以获得一项对构建自己的人工智能(AI)处理器至关重要的技术。
报道称，提供半导体知识产权(IP)的Alphawave在获得Arm和其他潜在买家的收购兴趣后，一直在与其投资银行家合作探讨出售事宜。
不过，报道称，软银集团持有多数股权的英国芯片架构设计公司Arm在与Alphawave进行初步谈判后，决定不再继续收购Alphawave。
Arm和Alphawave拒绝置评。
报道称，Arm 最近与 Alphawave接洽，希望购买其控制芯片数据传输速度的技术，这对人工智能至关重要，因为聊天机器人和其他应用程序可能需要同时组装数千个芯片才能高效运行。
Arm本身并不生产芯片，而是向苹果和英伟达等公司出售和授权其构建模块和知识产权，用于设计智能手机、笔记本电脑和数据中心处理器的芯片。
