0644 GMT - U.S. and China relations will likely to worsen significantly, especially as China has been making good progress in high-tech sectors, including artificial intelligence and robotics, Nomura analysts write in a note. There is potential for the Trump administration in the coming months to threaten to revoke China's most favored nation trade status, and Trump may further restrict U.S. investment in China and Chinese investment in the U.S., they add. Scientific exchanges and tech transfers will be tightened, and there will likely be strengthened export controls on high-tech goods, Nomura says. The scale and speed of additional U.S. tariffs and other measures against China under Trump 2.0 have exceeded market expectations, Nomura says. (jiahui.huang@wsj.com; @ivy_jiahuihuang)
