Nintendo is delaying U.S. pre-orders of its highly-anticipated Switch 2 console due to market uncertainty over President Donald Trump's tariffs.
Pre-orders were scheduled to be accepted on April 9. There is no new date.
A Nintendo spokesperson sent this statement Friday: "Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged."
Earlier this week, Nintendo announced the Switch 2 will be coming on June 5, starting at $449.99. The Japan-based game maker manufactures its consoles in Asia.
