Delta Air Lines (DAL) shares were lower Monday after the National Transportation Safety Board said it will investigate a close call that took place between a Delta flight and US Air Force jets near Reagan Washington National Airport on Friday, Reuters reported, citing the regulator.

The Delta Airbus A319 received a collision warning alert and controllers corrected the flight trajectories of both aircraft, according to the report.

The incident occurred when the Delta flight was cleared for takeoff at the time when four T-38 Talons were en route for a flyover, the report said.
