BlockBeats News, April 8th, according to the U.S. media Axios, Trump will veto legislation proposed by Washington State Democratic Senator Maria Cantwell and Iowa State Republican Senator Chuck Grassley that would restrict the president's unilateral tariff powers. Currently, seven Republican senators have signed onto this bipartisan legislation, which is becoming a way for Republicans to express their concerns about Trump's tariff policy. Cantwell said, "It's not common for a bill to be introduced for the first time and receive this much support, but I think it shows people's anxiety." According to a source familiar with Trump's thinking, Trump is reportedly irritated by the proposal of this bill. A government policy statement sent to the U.S. Congress today stated, "If this bill is passed, it will hinder the president's power and responsibility to develop our foreign policy and protect our national security. If the bill is passed by Congress and sent to the president, he will veto it." (Golden Finance)
