Lindian Resources (ASX:LIN) started downstream metallurgical testwork with the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation to evaluate the production of mixed rare earth carbonate from monazite concentrate produced from its Kangankunde rare earths project, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
The company will evaluate both sulfuric acid bake and caustic cracking methods to define the best downstream path and support multiple off-take and strategic partnership discussions, the filing said.
The first production is targeted for 2026, and the test work will deliver a representative mixed rare earth carbonate product as well as a formal certificate of analysis.
Its shares fell a little over 1% in recent trading on Monday.
