1552 ET [Dow Jones]-- Even with the investor expectations for bank stocks tanking, it's not all bad news, D.A. Davidson's Gary Tenner says. If the U.S. avoids a recession and tariffs remain higher, domestically focused banks could stand out longer term as greater local production and local economic activity drive lending opportunities, he says. And if the economy tips into a recession, some larger cap bank stocks with strong credit histories and durable balance sheets, like SouthState, Wintrust Financial and Prosperity Bancshares, could ride out the turbulence, he says.
