消息面上，美国总统特朗普关税措施引发全球股市下挫。香港财经事务及库务局副局长陈浩濂在立法会财经事务委员会会议上表示，金融市场瞬息万变，香港特区政府与金融监管机构一直紧密合作，对货币、股票、期货、衍生工具等市场进行跨市场、联动式和全天候监管，以维护金融安全。
银河证券表示，特朗普发布的“对等关税”比预期更严厉，其他国家纷纷采取反制措施，贸易冲突加剧，市场对主要经济体经济增速放缓的担忧加剧。高盛发表报告称，鉴于未来几周中美政策日程仍紧张以及双边贸易紧张局势升级，该行认为中国市场面临获利回吐压力，目前市场可能会在短期内测试该行的风险估值，直到贸易和政策变得清晰起来，或达成新的关税平衡。该行表示，更倾向A股而非H股。
