1252 ET - Tesla slides 5% to $227.80, less than three weeks since Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick used a television appearance to recommend the public invest in Elon Musk's electric-vehicle maker. Lutnick said the stock, then sitting at around $236, would "never be this cheap again." Tesla shares are now down 44% this year and more than 50% below their all-time high of $488.54 reached in mid-December. (colin.kellaher@wsj.com)
