WAM Research (ASX:WAX) reported March net tangible assets per share before tax of AU$1.097, down from AU$1.158 in February, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The company reported assets of AU$231.6 million with an annual investment portfolio performance of a little over 15%.
Discount variety store chain The Reject Shop (ASX:TRS) was a contributor to the company's portfolio performance as it was acquired for a 112% premium, while department store operator Myer Holdings (ASX:MYR) was a detractor due to a drop in earnings, the company added.
The asset manager added that it's still optimistic about Myer after its recent successful acquisition of Premier Investments' apparel brands.
