‘US hard to sell to now’: China’s exporters train sights on Australia

Tokyo | David Pan has watched the US-China trade war unfold with a mixture of resignation and despair.

Not because his Zhuhai, Pearl River Delta, factory turning out curtains and windows ships to the United States. He quickly stopped that during Donald Trump’s first presidency, when a 25 per cent tariff hit Chinese imports and Pan’s customers “dried up very fast”.
