0923 GMT - The U.K. is on course to report solid first quarter economic growth after the latest economic growth data came in stronger than expected, Investec Economics says in a note. U.K. gross domestic product rose by 0.5% in February, well above the 0.1% consensus forecast by economists in a WSJ poll. Following February growth, U.K.'s first-quarter GDP growth is likely to beat the Bank of England forecast of 0.25% growth, Investec says. "The BOE staff estimate that foresaw growth of around 0.25% in 1Q at the time of the March meeting (itself revised up from 0.1% in February) looks clearly too pessimistic now."
