智通财经APP获悉，谷歌(GOOGL.US)正式发布第七代张量处理器(TPU)芯片，这是该公司首款专为人工智能(AI)推理任务设计的处理器。
这款名为Ironwood的新芯片将根据AI工作负载需求提供两种配置方案：256芯片集群和9216芯片集群。谷歌表示，该芯片将于今年晚些时候通过云服务平台向客户开放。
该公司在一篇博客文章中表示：“Ironwood是我们迄今为止性能最强、能效最高的TPU产品。其专为大规模思维型和推理型AI模型打造，标志着AI发展进程及其基础设施建设的重大转折。”
随着AI相关支出的激增，谷歌正加大数据中心定制芯片的研发力度。据该博客披露，Ironwood最高可配置9216个液冷芯片，通过突破性的芯片互连技术实现近10兆瓦的运算能力。
技术参数方面，Ironwood的能效比达到前代Trillium(第六代TPU)的两倍，单芯片内存容量提升至192GB，是Trillium的六倍。关于芯片代工商信息，谷歌方面未予披露。
该公司表示：“这标志着AI发展从'响应式'向'主动式'的范式转变。我们正从需要人工解读实时数据的响应模型，转向能够主动生成洞察与解读的智能系统。这就是所谓的'推理时代'——AI代理将主动获取并生成数据，协同提供深度见解和解决方案，而非原始数据。”
