Renergen (ASX:RLT) said that a "defective" approval under South Africa's Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act for Springbok Solar Power Plant (RF) Proprietary's facility has been revoked, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
A dispute had arisen between Renergen unit Tetra4 and Springbok Solar regarding their solar development encroaching upon Tetra4's production right.
The director-general of the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources ruled in favor of Tetra4 on Wednesday, upholding Tetra4's appeal against a decision by the department's regional manager concerning land use rights.
The director-general found procedural defects in the approval process, noting that Springbok Solar failed to consult Tetra4 as required by the regulations.
